1998 Danube Cup Invitation

Sanctioned by the European Powerlifting Federation, the German Weightlifting Federation invites the following EPF Member Nations to compete for the 1998 Danube Cup.

Austria, Bulgaria, Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Ukraine.

Host City: Immenstadt.
Date: 27th to 29th of March 1998. The competition will take place on Saturday 28th March.
Venue: Julius-Kunert-Sporthalle, Allgäuer Straße.
Hotels: Hotel Hirsch, Hotel-Pension Lamm, Hotel Goldener-Adler, Terrassenhotel Rothenfels, Gasthof Alpsee in Bühl and other Hotels in the Brochure provided.

Teams: Invited are 1 men's team (maximum 5 lifters), 1 women's team (maximum 5 lifters ), plus 2 officials and 1 referee from each Nation.
Awards: The Danube Cup is awarded to the team with the highest total Wilks points (4 best lifters score). For each of the IPF weight categories, the first three lifters will receive Medals. In addition, all lifters will receive certificates.
Technical Meeting: Friday 27th of March 1998, 2000 hours, in Hotel Hirsch.
Arrivals:Not later than 1800 hours on Friday 27th of March. Airport: München. Railway Station: Immenstadt. Note that there is no official transfer to the venue from either the Airport or the Railway Station.
Scales: At Hotel and Venue.
Flags and Anthems: Each Nation must bring its own flag and anthem.
Closing Banquet: 2000 hours on Saturday in Gasthof Alpsee at Bühl. Free for all lifters, two officials and one referee.
Doping Control Fee: 45DM for each entered lifter, payable in DM at the Technical Meeting.
Timetable: Venue opens at 9am on Saturday 28th March. The first groups consits of all women lifters, and men up to 67.5kg. The second group includes the remaining men. Lifting starts at 1000 hours for the first group and 1400 hours for the second. Victory Ceremonies for the weights classes will be held at the end of each part of the competition. Special awards will be given out at the banquet.
