1. 1998 - The Year Ahead

The EPF calendar of events for 1998 is detailed below. One new addition is the European Masters Bench Press Championships. Whilst there will be no seperate disabled competition, there will be seperate Masters I and Masters II categories for women for all 10 weight classes. It should also be noted that the European Masters Powerlifting Championships have been moved back a week to avoid a clash with the Soccer World Cup in France.

2. EPF Accounts for 1997

The 1997 accounts show that the financial status of the EPF is very healthy. Canada still owes 1400DM for the 1997 Bench Press World Championships' Medals.

3. Danube-Cup Invitation

The 1998 Danube-Cup Invitation is enclosed. Most nations should have already received an Immenstadt brochure, detailing the hotels offered in the invitation.

4. Other Busines

At the EU-Cup the Portugese lifter Felisberto Fragoso tested positive for a total of 3 Anabolics. He is suspended for 2 years. Andreas Röhr of Germany tested positive for caffeine (>35mg) at the Baltic-Cup. He is suspended for three months until 28th December 1997.

At the Womens European the following lifters tested negative: Tesleva, Viitasaari, Koskinen, Oksana Belova, Cognac, Dujardin, Olsson, Nelubova, Nikander, Ivanova Larisa, Marx, Fomina, Blikra, Sasko, Sjöstrand, Tanakova, Edvardsen, Kaakonsen, Igenaten kova, Sherban, Zhukova, O´Brian, Rumyantseva, Hoiland, Korshunova, Zvarich, Herchenhein, Pavlova. The only positive was Natalia Ivanova, who's sample contained Stanozolol metabolites. She is is suspended for two years.

1998 Membership Fee. The following members should pay must pay the EPF Membership Fee by the end of January 1998: GBR, IRE, LUX, HUN, POL, SLK, ESP, SWE, SUI, LIT, EST, BUL, POR, SLO, BLR. Failure to pay in will results in a fine of 15DM per month overdue.
