Canditates for EPF Technical Chairman: John Stephenson, GBR.

Proposal: Changes in By-Law 3.02 A. "to National Affiliations (annually) .... 400DM".
Reason: The annual fee is raised to 400 DM to finance assistant secretary work.

3. 1998 European Juniors Invitation

4. Other Business

A number of countries have yet to pay the 1998 membership fee, which is now two months overdue. The following nations must send 380DM to the EPF, which includes the late payment fine: HUN, POL, SLK, ESP, EST, POR, BLR. Once again, some federations forgot the transfer cost charged by the German Banks. In making a bank transfer, a minimum of 18DM must be added to sum owed to the EPF. Consequently, the cheapest method or payment is cash, and the next best is a Eurocheque. As as result of the bank charges, the following nations must pay the EPF at Congress: ICE 18DM, LUX 23DM, Sweden 24DM, LIT 18DM. It should be noted that Ireland and Holland have already paid for 1999.

At the moment the EPF is receiving bids for championships in the year 2001. Anyone wishing to organise a championships should either send details to the EPF Secretary or make a presentation to the EPF Congress in Finland.

There is another positive doping case to report from last year's EU-Cup. Due to reasons outside the control of the EPF, a B-test was not completed until January. The positive lifter was Søren Milton from Denmark in the Men's 125kg class. He is disqualified and suspended until 19th July 1999. His EU-Cup 2nd place goes to Jean Collart of France.

For the year 2000, only two more Championships Organisers are required - for the Men's Open (10th to 14th of May) and the Masters (July 5th to 9th).
