1999 EPF Congress

A reminder that the 1999 EPF Congress will be held in Kielce, Poland at 1900hrs on Wednesday 12th May 1999.

1999 Men's European Powerlifting Championships

The original Organiser of the Men's Open in Kielce, Mr Kardinalsky, has unfortunately decided he is unable to host the Championships. Consequently, the Polish Federation has now appointed Lech Krasa as the Meet Director, and the new Championship venue is Pultusk, 75km from Warsaw airport. The Championships dates remain the same, but unfortunately the referee seminar cannot be organised due to special circumstances (the IPF is unable to pay its share of the costs). Further details of the Championships can be found on the EPF homepage (
www.europower.org).

3. Hotel Prices - 1999 European Masters

There is an error in the Hotel prices published in the invitation for the 1999 Masters European Powerlifting Championships - the listed prices are per room per night.

4. 1999 European Junior Powerlifting Championships

The Organisers of the European Juniors at Tomashov Lubelski, Poland have a big financial problems. Consequently, the Meet Director requires an additional organisation fee of 20DM for each entered lifter. Without this fee, it would no tbe possible for the Championships to go ahead. Full details can be found in the new invitation - please remember to take the additional money with you.

5. 1999 Danube Cup

The 10th Danube Cup 1999 in Bulgaria was very well organised, but it was a pity that many nations chose not to attend. The Bulgarian athletes surprised many people with their high standard of lifting, as can be seen in the results. The EPF would like to thank Christo Meranzov and his team.

6. Any Other Business

  1. The venue for the Women's World in Denmark has been changed - the Championships will now be held in now Thisted, 20km from Hanstholm. The new venue is same one used for the 1997 EU Cup. Please note that the airport remains unchanged.
  2. The following Members still must pay the EPF Fee for 1999 - POL, SLK, LIT, BUL, POR, GEO, BLR and CYP. As it is now April, it the fee including the fine is 445DM.
