posted on the EPF website. The Championships are being held in
Villefranche-sur-Saône, 25 km North of Lyon.
2 1999 European Bench Press Championships
The 1999 European Bench Press Championships are being held in Györ,
Hungary, 80km from Budapest. The championship invitation
is available on the EPF website. At these championships, disabled lifters will
be allowed to wear a Bench Shirt, and they can elect to lift on either the normal
IPF bench or the disabled bench. According to 5.03b, the promotor is entitled to
impose a fine of max. 75DM per lifter, for those athletes entered less than 21 days
before a chamionships. However, the Hungarian organisers have decided to limit the
fine to 20DM for each late entry. If, for example, a federation nominates 11 lifters
there is only a late name change, there is no fine to pay. If a federation nominates three
lifters, then adds two more less than 21 days prior to the championships, a fine
of 40DM is payable. If a federations nominations arrive less than 21 days before
championships. then all lifters are subject to a fine of 20DM. To avoid these fines,
please ensure that all nominations arrive in good time
3 1999 Baltic Cup
The Russians have worked hard to organise the 1999 Baltic Cup, and it is hoped that
the Championships will not be cancelled due to lack of support. Invited Federations are
asked to make every effort to send lifters to this event. The invitation will accompany
the June EPF Info.
